The University of Crete at the World’s Largest Research Management Conference

Among more than 2,200 participants from 67 countries, the Innovation and Technology Transfer Unit of the University of Crete had the honor of representing our Institution at INORMS 2025, the world’s largest conference for research management professionals, held in Madrid from May 5 to 10, 2025. It was the only Greek participation in this year’s conference — a particularly significant presence on an international level.

INORMS 2025 (International Network of Research Management Societies), organized in collaboration with EARMA (European Association of Research Managers and Administrators), brought together a global network of professionals under the thematic focus “A Sustainable Profession in a Sustainable World.” The conference featured over 400 speakers and a multifaceted program centered on the exchange of best practices, innovation in research management, and the sustainability of the professional role of those who support and manage research at universities and research institutions worldwide.

The participation of the Research Support Office of the Unit took place in the framework of the European project TWIN4EarLiStAge – HORIZON-WIDERA-2023, under the scientific coordination of Assistant Professor of Biology, Dr. Dafni Bazopoulou, to whom the Unit extends its sincere thanks for her collaboration and meaningful contribution to the successful realization of this participation.

The Research Support Office is one of the core pillars of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Unit, actively supporting the research activities of the University of Crete. Through the provision of consulting services, the promotion of international networking, and the implementation of research collaborations, it plays a key role in connecting research with society and strengthening the University’s outreach and international engagement.
